It was the least nervous I've ever felt pitching, despite it probably being the biggest audience I've pitched to. The constructive feedback I received helped me practise properly and know my pitch better than ever.

The rewritten version and the filler-word feedback were huge, they showed me exactly where I was using filler words and helped me cut them.

It did exactly what I needed for the showcase. I'd come back to it for another event and would refer other founders to it.

Off the back of how the pitch went, I was introduced to an investor, and I genuinely think that outcome was a direct result of the improvements I made through speaking.app.

In the early stages I was also using the recommended adjustments verbatim while I was building out the flesh of my pitch, as I found them to be quite high quality.

Common questions

What should a mock interview actually cover?

A mix of question types you expect to face: behavioral, situational, and role-specific. Aim to cover the company values or competencies listed in the job description, plus the two or three questions you most dread getting.

How many mock interviews should I do before the real one?

Five to ten focused sessions across one or two weeks is usually enough to feel sharp without overcooking it. Quality matters more than quantity, so review each recording before stacking another one on top.

Is an AI mock interview as useful as a human one?

They serve different purposes. A human gives you body language and instinctive social feedback. AI gives you instant analysis on structure, pacing, and filler words across many more reps than a human partner can sit through. Use both if you can.

How do I track whether I am actually improving?

Watch three things across sessions: how often you ramble past the result, your filler word rate, and whether your answers fit a clear framework or wander. Improvement on those three usually transfers to the real interview.

What should I do with the feedback after a mock session?

Pick one weakness to fix in the next session, not all of them. Re-record the same question with the fix in mind. Layering improvements one at a time is how the habits stick, and it stops every session from feeling like a fire drill.
