What separates paddy rice, brown rice, and white rice?
Rice changes category as different outer layers are removed. Taking away the husk produces brown rice; further milling removes bran-rich layers to produce white rice. Following the grain through those steps makes the names concrete without treating every mill’s yield or every nutritional comparison as the same.
