Give a client a clearer way to structure an answer, then ask them to say it out loud. That second part takes practice. It is also where speaking.app fits into communication coaching.

Your client can record an interview answer, presentation, pitch, or speech and review AI feedback before the next appointment. You bring the coaching; speaking.app gives them another place to rehearse.

Through the speaking.app affiliate program, you can earn commission by recommending the app to clients who need independent practice. Here is how to make the recommendation part of your coaching routine.

How affiliate marketing works for communication coaches

You recommend a product through a personal referral link. When a client chooses your referral and makes an eligible purchase, you earn commission.

For a communication coach, the recommendation can sit naturally inside work you already do: preparing a client for an interview, helping someone shorten a presentation, or setting practice between appointments.

Your coaching fee covers your expertise and time. Affiliate commission comes from qualifying product purchases.

Why recommend speaking.app to coaching clients?

speaking.app supports independent speech, presentation, pitch, and interview practice with AI feedback after recording. It gives clients material to review and a reason to try the same speaking task again.

A typical practice loop is simple:

  1. Record an attempt.
  2. Review the transcript and feedback.
  3. Choose a change to the message, structure, or delivery.
  4. Rehearse the same task again.

The transcript helps a client compare what they meant to say with what they actually said. Feedback can draw attention to pacing, filler words, and the structure of an answer.

For a concrete product example, open our rambling-to-structured-answer demonstration. It shows an answer alongside the feedback and rewrite. You can also explore the sample analysis before planning a client exercise.

Try the exercise yourself in speaking.app, then choose one observation you would use in a coaching session. Check it against the recording and the client's next goal. Recommend the plan that includes the features you demonstrate and that the client will use between sessions.

Interview preparation

Ask the client to rehearse an answer to “Tell me about yourself.” Use the recording to discuss which experience matters to the employer and how quickly the answer reaches it. Our interview introduction guide gives them a way to plan the content.

Presentations and pitches

Ask the client to rehearse the opening minute. Listen for the audience's problem, the main point, and the reason to keep listening. They can use speaking.app to record another attempt after changing the opening.

Clearer everyday answers

Set a short task such as a project update or a request for a decision. Have the client put the main point first, give the necessary context, and finish with the next step. A repeat attempt makes the change easier to hear.

A speaking.app assignment you can give a client today

Use this for a client working on concise interview introductions. Adapt the prompt to the role they are applying for.

Access: Free includes a transcript and core feedback on pace, filler words, and pauses within a monthly allowance. Check that the client's remaining allowance covers both analyzed attempts. Pro adds deeper clarity, rhetoric, and rewrite feedback. Compare the current plans with the features you want to use.

The task: In interview practice, answer “Tell me about yourself” in about 60 seconds. Include your current focus, one relevant example, and why this role interests you.

Before the session

Ask the client to record their first answer in speaking.app. They should use their own experience and finish the attempt before editing the wording.

Have them read the transcript and mark the sentence that best explains why their experience fits the role. Is that sentence near the beginning, or does the listener have to wait for it?

During the session

Choose one change together. Perhaps the background needs shortening, the relevant example needs a clearer point, or the ending needs to connect to the role.

If you use a suggested rewrite, check it against the client's facts and voice. Then have the client say the answer aloud in their own words.

After the session

Ask for another attempt at the same prompt. At the next appointment, compare the opening, the relevant example, and the ending. Our three-pass recording review provides a routine you can reuse.

You can introduce the assignment with wording like this:

For our next session, record a 60-second interview introduction. You can use speaking.app for a transcript and AI feedback, or use another recorder. Try again with your main point nearer the beginning and bring one change you made. I may earn a commission if you buy through my speaking.app link, at no extra cost to you.

What the speaking.app affiliate program pays

Here are the standard terms for personal referrals:

Program detailHow it works
Eligible productsIndividual Pro monthly and annual subscriptions, plus one-off 7-day passes (called Week Passes in the affiliate terms)
Commission30% of eligible collected payments, excluding customer tax
Earning period12 months from the customer's first eligible payment
First purchase deadlineWithin 90 days of first confirming your referral in their account
JoiningIntroduction, approval, invitation, and acceptance of the agreement

Monthly payments, repeat Week Pass purchases, and annual purchases can qualify when captured within the customer's original 12-month earning period. Switching plans does not restart it. An annual renewal on or after the first anniversary falls outside the window. Free signups and unpaid trials earn no commission.

Visitors open your link, choose your referral, and complete verified signup or login. Their account remembers the referral, without a referral cookie. Eligible existing free users can qualify; previous paying customers and self-referrals do not.

The published affiliate terms cover attribution, refunds, supported payment routes, and payouts. Commission is recorded in USD. Bank-transfer payouts have an ordinary 30-day hold and no minimum balance, with verification and review before payment. Your accepted agreement covers the payout schedule.

To join, contact us through the affiliate page with a short introduction to your coaching and audience.

Choose affiliate referrals or Workspace for your coaching setup

Use personal affiliate referrals when clients choose and pay for their own speaking.app access. Each person practices in their own account, and eligible purchases can earn you commission.

Use speaking.app Workspace for coaches when you want to manage a group: assign practice, track progress, leave feedback, and provide Pro access while participants are enrolled.

Workspace, group packs, and gifts are outside the standard personal affiliate offer. A referral link also does not grant access to client recordings. Agree on what a client will share, or use Workspace when managed review is part of the service.

Share the recommendation where you already teach

You do not need a separate campaign for every tool. Put the recommendation where a client is deciding how to practice.

On your website: Add speaking.app to a useful resources page. Explain the exercise it supports, link to a product example, and include your affiliate disclosure beside the referral link.

In a client assignment: Give the client one task to complete before the next appointment. Include the relevant plan information and the referral relationship with the instructions.

In a newsletter or video: Teach a speaking problem, demonstrate a rehearsal in speaking.app, and show the observation you would act on. Then invite readers to try the same exercise.

For a public affiliate recommendation, an approved partner could say:

#Ad. I may earn a commission if you buy through my speaking.app link, at no extra cost to you.

Keep the disclosure with the recommendation. Irish CCPC guidance explains primary advertising labels, while the FTC's US guidance covers disclosure with endorsements, including video. For ICF professionals, ICF Standard 3.8 requires disclosure of referral compensation and benefits to clients. Complimentary access is another benefit to disclose.

Questions about affiliate marketing for coaches

Can I earn commission alongside my coaching fee?

Yes. Your coaching fee and affiliate income are separate. Our program pays commission on eligible personal purchases through a qualifying referral.

Can I recommend speaking.app to clients who already have a free account?

Existing free users can qualify if they have never made an eligible purchase. They must open your active link, choose your referral, and complete verified login before buying. Previous paying customers do not qualify.

Do I have to publish a positive review?

No. Our affiliate terms allow honest criticism and do not require exclusive promotion. Show the product as you use it and explain the plan you demonstrate.

Does the 7-day Pro pass renew?

No. The 7-day option on the pricing page is a one-off purchase, called Week Pass in the affiliate terms. Monthly and annual Pro plans are subscriptions.
